Born Edward Thomas Hardy on September 15, 1977 in Hammersmith, London, Tom has come a long way, overcoming drug and alcohol addiction to become a model, actor and philantropist. After attending a number of drama schools, he won a modeling competition at age 21. A couple of years later, he made his television debut in the World War II drama Band of Brothers, and shortly after came his big screen roles in Black Hawk Down and Star Trek: Nemesis. His breakthrough came with his role in Christopher Nolan’s 2010 mind-bending sci-fi thriler Inception, which became one of the top 25 highest grossing films of all time. Two years and a number of film roles later, he rejoined Nolan for his role as the villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Hardy is an Ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, which helps disadvantaged youth, as well as a patron for the charity Flack, an organization to help Cambridge’s homeless. He is currently starring as the eponymous role in Mad Max: Fury Road.
